We are a couple in our late seventies who have camped for many, many years. Over this time we have graduated from small frame tents to larger units with our family and in more recent years to folding campers. Our most recent folding camper was a Pennine Sterling which gave us excellent service for over ten years. We had not planned to change it but when Julie showed us the Conway Countryman model this spring we were so impressed it didn't take us long to decide to purchase one.
On collection we were given a very thorough and comprehensive demonstration of the unit by Nick and we also received some very helpful tips from him.
We have recently returned from a lengthy trip on the continent. The basic unit is quick and easy to erect and when there are just the two of us it is fully adequate. The awning obviously requires a bit more effort and creates double the space when required. The fitted kitchen with its own hot water heater is a real bonus. The cabin is well fitted out and the built-in fan heater ensures a comfortable temperature - particularly appreciated on chilly mornings! We also find the acrylic fabric to be warmer and certainly quicker-drying after a downpour.
We so much appreciate the luxury touches that the Countryman provides and are confident that it will serve us well for many years.
We have nothing but praise for Nick and Julie and their staff at Pennine Outdoor Leisure. They produce folding campers of first class quality and really do go out of their way to give excellent service to their customers.

I have had our 209 Cruiser from new. I have bought the odd spare part from Pennine Outdoor and found them very helpful. As we are getting older and only the 2 of us the full awning and the bedroom extension is a bit much to assemble. We saw the new Air porch and ordered one. It arrived within 24 hours and took us less than 30 minutes to read the excellent instructions and have it fitted to the camper already out for our trip. Brilliant. We won't need the full awning much in years to come. Julie responded to my order quickly and the whole set up seems very professional. If we upgrade I will certainly call them despite the distance.

Where to start, we are seasoned campers who have progressed from a small tent through to trailer tents, these were great but took a lot of effort to put up hence not good for weekends away which results in little use.
Last year after much consideration we decided to sell the new trailer tent and buy a folding camper. Sadly we left it too late to buy a new one and finally found a two year old Conway Crusader. This was the best decision we have ever made the ease of use is second to none camping became fun again.
I then made a fatal mistake I looked through the brilliant online spares catalogue and decided to add a winter cover and a few other things I arranged to collect direct from the factory after making the purchase a very clever Julie gave e sneak preview of the 2016 Pathfinder and I was sold. Julie told me that the best price would be at the Manchester caravan show and I made sure that booked tickets for the show. After looking at the finished project and a brief chat with Julie we decided to think about the purchase while walking round. We only got to the end of the stand and turned back to purchase a brand new Pathfinder we were offered a very fair trade in price for our 2013 Crusader with the option to sell it private which we managed to do.
We collected our new Pathfinder in April with a comprehensive handover from Julie and Nick who are very passionate about the Pennine brand and quite rightly so. We also added the new air porch awning and a motor mover which for me is the best things since sliced bread the awning goes up like a dream and no pushing or pulling which makes a great product even better. Add to this a second to none after sales service put the product leagues above anything else we have seen. I had a small problem recently and made the trip back to Accrington and felt like one of the family
In the four outings in our Pathfinder it always manages to turn heads and raise curiosity and after the inevitable guided tour people are amazed at quality and style and in awe of how it all packs away so compactly.
My only advice is don't think for too long about buying one just do it, you wont look back but we rediscover your love for camping just like we have.
I would like to wish Julie and Nick and their very pleasant team a very healthy future.

We've just upgraded to a Conway Crusader having previously had the Pennine Pullman and we’ve “survived” our first couple of nights in the new camper. We’ve really enjoyed it.
We did have a couple of “trying moments” but with some help from Nick over the phone, and some helpful experienced caravaners who we met, we’ve gained some useful experience and feel more confident.
We were up at Pickering for a couple of nights, and the weatherman has thrown everything at us (thunder, rain, hail, sleet & snow) but we were fine, and really impressed as to how warm it was in the trailer. We’ve both decided that if we can get through a couple of “arctic” April days, we shouldn’t have any problems with the rest of the year.
We haven’t used the large awning as yet, but the blow up porch is excellent and really easy to put up.
We’ve also now “mastered” the powered mover, and thats going to be a real asset to us.
We had a couple of visitors looking in on us, and everyone comments on both the size and the fitting out of the trailer.
We're really glad that we made this choice and we'd recommend the Crusader to any prospective customers.
Once again, thanks to Julie and Nick for their help and we’re looking forward to a busy summer “out and about.”

Have just bought air porch. Outstanding. Easy to erect. Cosy. Will probably never use the big awning again. Have posted pictures on face book.

Eventually got round to writing this (sorry). We purchased the Pennine Countryman during summer 2015. Production and handover were second to none. We had explored many other possibilities in the trailer tent and folding camper market but none came close to the quality and luxury offered by Pennine. We received a unique tour of the workshop detailing the manufacturing process which reassured us (again) of the products build quality. The owners could not have been more helpful! When we visited the showroom we had been on a ‘tour’ of the market (couldn’t find any in Scotland) and despite visiting several other large outlets in England we had fallen for the Pennine folding camper from the first moment we viewed it. (it actually became an easy decision to part with the cash!).
We have used our new camper many times since purchasing last summer; with a 3 week summer holiday on Dorset where we put the large and comfortable awning to good use. The key facilities such as the sink (with water heater), refrigerator and freezer (both surprisingly spacious) and hob/grill were all fabulous and made the 'camping' experience more like a 'caravanning' experience. In hindsight it may have been useful to have asked whether we could have the oven fitted too (but the additional space afforded without the oven comes in very handy for a family of 4). We also bought a small oven which sits neatly in the space between the sink and the hob when in use.
There is good space under both seats and the cupboard and drawers at the door come in handy too for clothes and games. The under seat storage areas would have benefitted from small fold down cupboard doors to permit easier access to this area preventing the need to lift the seats every time (not a big deal just a nicety). We need to consider additional ways in which we can store clothes to enable easier access though. I’m sure that will come with time. The internal power points come in useful too and allow for a TV/DVD and extra lighting at night. The seats were incredibly comfortable too.
The beds were large and comfortable (we have a boys side and a girls side) which is fine for our 9 and 7 year old children and certainly not a squeeze. We also (as instructed during our excellent demonstration) place the back rests from the seats next to the beds which makes them even wider and more comfortable.
We camped in the highlands (Scotland) during October 2015 where temperatures dropped well below freezing (-3-4), however the built in heater kept us very cosy all through the night with no complaints from my wife or children (9 and 7 years old) (wife requires it to be at least 70 degrees at all times!). This demonstrated the campers flexibility and ability to extend the seasons which was one of the reasons we bought it and not a trailer tent.
Towing the campers was simple too. We have 90hp (diesel) C3 picasso which is fine although the 110hp would be better when fully loaded for a 3 week trip! Although it is suggested towing mirrors are not required we purchased a set which do afford improved views behind particularly in any blind spot. The C3 is quite a narrow car too.
We are absolutely delighted with our purchase, feel it was worth every penny, and are very much looking forward to many, many happy years camping ahead in it with our two rascals. Thank you Pennine Leisure!!!

PLEASE GET A CAMPER.
We have had tents, caravans (big and small), motorhomes (big and small). We bought our first camper this year and have never looked back. Why didn't we get one sooner. We have wasted thousands in large plastic boxes.
Recently up graded to a Pennine Sovereign which is simply brilliant from an adequate Trigano. The Sovereign is amazing. You can put it up in about 15 minutes. Its very spacious, well made and incredibly comfortable. Having been squashed in a motorhome for the last couple of years its a real pleasure to use. We tow it with a 5 series touring which averages 47 mpg on a run and this only dropped to 42 when towing. Much better than the 22 mpg from our Bessacarr E795 MH and you have all the comforts of travelling in a car not a van.
Our only downside is this model dons't have the built in toilet but I think I may be able to squeeze on in with a bit of work.
These little campers give you 5 star luxury and space for a fraction of the cost and hassle of the alternatives. Very clever.

We bought our camper on retirement in 2010 a peninne country man in 5 years we have spent 56 weeks touring around Europe and have been very very comfortable in it.if we were only doing a short stop we would leave the awning off and for longer stops we would go the whole set up,either way we were always comfortable in our large beds,if we had no electric hook up we found we had plenty of battery to run the built in internal light and the fridge running off the gas.we can only say good things to say about it.the setting up is easy and we have got our camper set up within 30 mins.its easy to tow.doesnt use up lots of fuel because of wind drag and weight just a good buy.love it love it love it
